Can I feed my 9-year-old cat food for cats 1-6 years-old?

My mom ran to the pet store for her cats and I asked her to snag me some cat food, Science Diet Adult Hairball Control. Being kind, she looked for the really big bag to save me money, but they only had the same formula meant for cats 1-6 years old instead of the Adult formula for 7+. Would it be okay to give my cats this food? It's not quite kitten food, but I want to make sure.
